South Park é uma sitcom de animação americana criada por Trey Parker e Matt Stone para a rede de televisão Comedy Central. Destinados ao público adulto, o espetáculo tornou-se famoso por seu humor negro, surreal, sátira, e escuro que satiriza uma ampla gama de tópicos. South Park estreou em agosto de 1997 com grande sucesso, ganhando consistentemente a maior audiência de qualquer programa de cabo básico. Avaliações subseqüentes têm variado, mas o show continua a ser maior Comedy Central do programa avaliado e mais longa em execução.

A long tradition exists in fiction, of men attempting to create the stereotypical ideal woman, and fictional gynoids have been seen as an extension of this theme. Examples include Hephaestus in the Iliad who created female servants of metal and Ilmarinen in the Kalevala who created an artificial wife.
